Taos Whole Health Integrative Care is seeking a Naturopathic Doctor and licensed Acupuncturist to join our very busy, established practice in Taos, New Mexico. Interest in Integrative Medicine and primary care is necessary. Our clinic was founded in 2017 by Lilly-Marie Blecher ND, DOM and Joanna Hooper MD, and has been pivotal in establishing Naturopathic Medicine and Integrative Medicine in New Mexico. This is the perfect opportunity to step into a busy practice, with lots of room to grow with support and mentorship. Applicants must have 3+ years in clinical practice.

Job Type: Full-time

Physician Responsibilities:

Take a holistic view of delivering integrative medical services for patients, manage full panel of primary care patients, ensure that patient services meet the Taos Whole Health standards along with all privacy and medical compliance regulations.

Physical Setting:

  • Integrative Medicine Primary Care Clinic

Clinical Duties:

  • Work with a healthcare team to provide patients with holistic and integrative medical care services within the scope of practice in New Mexico

  • Carry out patient service cycle (i.e., thorough consultation, excellent service, and follow up treatment) that aligns with Taos Whole Health brand standards. Maintain the treatment plan through regular reviews and communication with the medical team

  • Expand holistic and integrative services at Taos Whole Health to the top of your experience and scope, and pursue additional training as available to include newer services and treatments such as PRP injection therapy, microneedling, hair regeneration, ketamine therapy, and other services that are of interest to you and are suitable for our patient base

  • Examining patients, taking medical histories, reviewing intake forms, evaluating indications and contraindications for specific services and treatments, addressing patients' concerns, and answering patients' questions

  • Counseling patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and other lifestyle changes

  • Provide oversight as needed for nurses and residents. Be available for case discussion with residents and nurses and provide orders as needed

  • Be available to manage emergency situations during business hours

  • Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate and called for

  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose conditions of patients and propose treatment options

  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions

  • Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up-to-date before prescribing medication/treatment

Administrative Duties:

  • Sanitation and Sterilization. Uphold the standards as directed by law and Taos Whole Health’s policies and procedures

  • Adhere to policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards

  • Record Management.Retain and store all patient medical records in compliance with regulations. Record complete, timely and legible medical records

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all governmental health information privacy laws

  • Train and Coach. Participate and, at times, lead TWH training for new providers on each procedure. Be available as a resource for massage therapists, residents, nurses and support staff with the goal of providing consistent and exceptional medical services

  • Attend clinic meetings. Work with the general management and medical team to ensure that the TWH is up-to-date with new developments in the appropriate medical fields, regulations, and compliance requirements

Qualifications for Naturopathic Doctor and Doctor of Oriental Medicine

  • Completion of a 4 year accredited naturopathic medical school program

  • At least 3 years of experience providing holistic and integrative medical and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.

  • Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments and health regimens to treat patient health issues

  • Experience collaborating with a healthcare team to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues

  • Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • ND and Chinese Medicine degree from an accredited United States medical school.

  • Current US State Medical Practitioner License

  • Good leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Dexterity, flexibility, adaptability and detail oriented abilities

  • Patience and compassion

  • Professionalism with great bed-side manners

  • Must have a gift in teaching patients in “Why, How, and What” of integrative medicine they are receiving

  • Must be able to think “outside the box” for problem solving moments

  • Team-oriented and willingness to always be learning

  • Able to work independently without direct supervision

  • The ability and willingness to stay up to date on advancements, innovations, and developments in the field

Schedule:

Possibility of 3-5 day work week, to be discussed (most likely 5 days of work per week, but with a mix of direct patient care, administrative responsibilities, and supervision of residents)

Not to exceed 40 hours per week average throughout the working year.

  • Percentage of holistic services administered by physician- based on experience and expected revenue. To discuss during hiring process. Our clinicians average an income of $100K per year when seeing 10-20 patients per day, 3-4 days per week
